Enthronement of Sviatoslav Shevchuk

The video shows the enthronement of the new head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk, at the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ on March 27, 2011, in Kyiv.

The Divine Liturgy was attended by 350 priests and 60 bishops of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and other Eastern Catholic Churches.

The enthronement is a ceremony of accession to the throne and the official beginning of the duties of the head of the church, held in the form of a public service.
