Reference: Mazepa Fest is an annual Ukrainian contemporary art festival that has been held in Poltava since 2003. The event combined rock and ethnic music, theatre, cinema, literature and exhibitions, promoting Ukrainian culture. The festival became one of the symbols of the cultural revival of the early 2000s.

34th Molodist Film Festival

The video shows the "Zhovten" cinema in the city of Chernivtsi on March 5, 1965. Meeting of moviegoers with the main actor of the film "Dream" — Ivan Mykolaichuk and the Ukrainian poet, editor of the film — Mykhailo Tkach.

Background: Ivan Mykolaychuk was born on June 15, 1941, in the village of Chortorya, Chernivtsi region. He is a Ukrainian film actor, film director, screenwriter, and writer. He was awarded the Shevchenko Prize in 1988 (posthumously). He played 34 film roles, wrote 9 screenplays, and has two directorial works. In the Ukrainian SSR, he was labeled “unreliable”. He was called the “soul of Ukrainian cinema”. His most famous role is Ivan in the film Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors directed by Serhiy Parajanov. The film gained worldwide recognition.

Ivan Mykolaychuk died of cancer on August 3, 1987. He was buried at the Baikove Cemetery in Kyiv.
