Reference: Yaroslav Mysiak is a pastor who was sentenced to death by firing squad, but later his sentence was commuted to life imprisonment. Yaroslav was born into a Christian family on August 4, 1974, received the appropriate education to lead a youth worship service in the Transcarpathian region.

On October 18, 1999, the Zakarpattia Regional Court sentenced Yaroslav Mysiak to the death penalty for the murder of his grandparents and uncle. There is no evidence of guilt in the case file, apart from confessions. According to defense lawyer Yuriy Vakula: "The verdict is based on assumptions and fabricated evidence, on confessions obtained as a result of threats of violence against him and his family, inhuman treatment, threats, and pressure. The conclusions of the experts do not correspond to the actual circumstances of the case and are not supported by the evidence examined in the court hearing."

This is the last death sentence to be passed in independent Ukraine. However, at the time, the country already had a moratorium on the death penalty, and the sentence was not carried out. In 2000, the death penalty was finally abolished, and life imprisonment became the highest penalty. Yaroslav Mysiak was sentenced to life imprisonment.

The second film of the "Remembrance of the UPA" dilogy, entitled "The Dug Grave", continues the film study of the fate of families involved in the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, the struggle against the Nazi and Soviet totalitarian regimes. The authors reflect on the liberation sacrifice of Ukrainians in the struggle for the independence of Ukraine.

In the film, the film crew interviews residents of cities and villages of the Volyn, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv and Rivne regions about their family histories and events that took place in the 1930s–1950s.

The program contains fragments of a black-and-white chronicle.

Reference: The AN-140 plane crash occurred on December 23, 2002, near the Iranian city of Erdestan. The airplane belonged to the Aeromist-Kharkiv airline and was flying from Kharkiv to Isfahan with a stopover in Trabzon. The crash killed all 44 people on board: 38 passengers (33 Ukrainians and 5 Russians) and 6 crew members. The plane crashed on approach, and the cause of the accident is believed to be crew error. The plane was carrying leading Ukrainian and Russian aircraft construction experts who were participating in a project to organize the production of the AN-140 in Iran.

On June 13, 2014, Ukrainian security forces launched a successful operation to liberate Mariupol. The battle lasted several hours. During the assault, Ukrainian forces eliminated the enemy's key strongholds, destroyed their equipment, and regained control over all captured buildings, including the city council building.
