The video shows the memories of Zinaida Kapustina, a victim of the Chornobyl tragedy, about her life in Chornobyl during the accident and her return to Lutsk. The program uses archival materials filmed during the tragedy at the nuclear power plant.

Echoes of Chornobyl: a monologue-memoir

The video shows the construction of a spent fuel storage facility for the Chernobyl nuclear power plant (ISF-2). Construction work, workers, a line of PAZ buses, the territory of the nuclear power plant, a delegation, a stand with a diagram of the storage facility, a radiation control post, a passage to the 4th power unit, a reservoir, a reactor, a sarcophagus.

Several topics are discussed: the return of people who collaborated with the Nazis and are now hiding in England (chronicle footage of the shooting of people in Babyn Yar is used); differences between the USSR and Britain: democracy and glasnost, the work of journalists, freedom of religion; Anatoliy Kashpirovsky and his treatment methods (footage of mass treatment at the stadium, surgery on TV, experiments in the studio).

Reference: Anatoliy Kashpirovsky is a psychotherapist who is accused of charlatanism. He became known for his so-called teletherapy sessions and gained popularity in the field of alternative medicine. 

In 1989, he conducted several “hypnosis” sessions on Soviet television. During two teleconferences (1988 and 1989), he administered anesthesia to three patients: Lyubov Grabovska during the removal of a breast tumor, and Lesia Yurshova and Olga Ignatova during surgical operations. The first session took place on October 9 on Central Television.

The audience believed in Kashpirovsky's “gift” and it brought him great popularity. He held meetings with artists, doctors and opinion leaders. He was awarded the USSR State Prize and received a doctorate in medicine. In 1993, he was elected to the State Duma of the russian federation.

Reference: “Kharkiv agreements” are an agreement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation signed on April 21, 2010 in Kharkiv by Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, according to which the term of stay of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol was extended from 2017 to 2042 with an automatic extension for 5 years unless either party objects, and a rent payment was established.
As stated in the agreement itself, the fleet's stay was extended in exchange for cheaper Russian gas for Ukraine by applying a discount in the form of canceled customs duties.
It was ratified by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the State Duma of the Russian Federation on April 27, 2010.
In Ukraine, the agreement caused outrage among the opposition, environmentalists, local councils, and society in general. Most analysts viewed it as contrary to the Constitution of Ukraine.
It was unilaterally denounced by the State Duma of the Russian Federation on March 31, 2014.

“Kharkiv agreements": a protest rally

Kyiv, April 27, 2011, opposition rally, the main demand is to terminate the "Kharkiv agreements".

On April 27, 2011, representatives of 14 opposition parties at a rally in Kyiv adopted a resolution demanding the immediate cancellation of the so-called "Kharkiv agreements" on the extension of the temporary stay of the Russian Black Sea Fleet on the territory of Ukraine until 2042. 

The Party of Regions, on the other hand, called the Kharkiv agreements "an unconditional victory for Ukrainian diplomacy" and "the first real and convincing success" of the government in defending Ukrainian national interests in the last 5 years.
