The video shows fragments of two football matches in 1986: the final match of the Cup Winners' Cup between Dynamo Kyiv and Atletico Madrid and the match between Dynamo Kyiv and Dynamo Moscow in the USSR Championship, with the Kyiv team winning 2-1.

The video features an interview with Dynamo Kyiv coach Valeriy Lobanovsky and the team's players: Oleksandr Zavarov and Vasyl Ratz. Fragments of the match between Dynamo Kyiv and Atletico Madrid are used.

Reference: On May 2, 1986, Dynamo Kyiv won the European Cup Winners' Cup. It was the second time in its history. In the final match, which took place in Lyon, France, Dynamo confidently defeated Atletico Madrid 3-0. The goals were scored by Oleksandr Zavarov, Oleh Blokhin, and Vadym Yevtushenko. By the way, the match took place a week after the Chornobyl disaster, which at that time was not officially reported in the Soviet Union.

The UEFA Cup Winners' Cup was an annual club tournament held under the auspices of UEFA. It was played from 1960 to 1999. After that, the tournament was merged with the UEFA Cup. Only five teams have won the Cup of Cups more than once: Dynamo Kyiv, AC Milan, Chelsea and Anderlecht twice each; and Barcelona four times.

Ukrainian Football Day

Lviv, Ukraine Stadium, 1992. The video shows the first National Football Championship of Ukraine, the final match, the second half.

The teams playing are Tavria (Simferopol) and Dynamo (Kyiv). In the 32nd minute, Serhiy Shevchenko scores the winning goal and Tavria becomes the Ukrainian football champion. The stadium applauds and shouts “Bravo”. 

After the match, journalist Valentyn Shcherbachev interviews Dynamo head coach Anatoliy Puzach, head coach of the Dynamo Kyiv football team, and players Volodymyr Chyzhovych and Yulian Korniak. 

Tavria players run around the stadium with the cup in their hands. Fans are chanting: “Tavri - well done”, the flag of Ukraine is given to the players of Tavriya, they run with it along the stadium. 

Reference: The 1992 Ukrainian Football Championship was the first championship of Ukraine after gaining independence. This season was a transitional and exceptional one - it lasted only six months. This happened because the last USSR championship ended in the fall of 1991, and the Football Federation of Ukraine decided to hold championships on a fall-spring calendar to synchronize them with most European championships and the European Cup season.

Kyiv Popular Science Film Studio (“Kyivnaukfilm”).

A fragment of Anatoly Klimov’s film “Football Technique” from 1972 is dedicated to the main technical elements of the game of football: kicks at a stationary ball, kicks at a moving ball, stopping the ball, heading, individual and group exercises.

The technique is demonstrated by players of the Dynamo football club (Kyiv) Valeriy Porkuyan and Anatoly Byshovets.

Dubbed in Russian, it contains fragments of football matches.

Reference: Anatoly Ivanovich Klimov (1924-1994) is a Ukrainian cinematographer who gained recognition for his work in the field of popular science films. He began his career in 1946 at the Kyiv Popular Science Film Studio and made a number of important films that cover various aspects of science, technology and industry. Later, he focused on sports themes.

The short film "Technique of Football" (1972) became an important sports film of the time. The film won high awards, including the Gold Medal at the 4th All-Union Sports Film Festival in Odessa (1972) and the Gold Medal and Honorary Diploma at the International Sports Film Festival in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy (1973).
