Reference: In March 2008, the leader of the Communist Party of Ukraine Petro Symonenko registered in the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution on the appointment of an all-Ukrainian referendum on the people's initiative on Ukraine's accession to NATO and participation in the Common Economic Space.
