Concert "A Song is the Soul..." to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Hryhoriy Veryovka.

Reference: Hryhoriy Veryovka is a Ukrainian composer, choral conductor and teacher, one of the key figures in the development of professional choral culture in Ukraine in the 20th century. As the founder and long-time director of the Ukrainian State Folk Choir (1943 –1964), he had a decisive influence on the formation of academic interpretations of folklore and the formation of a national choral school. Since 1964, the choir has been named after him.

Hryhoriy Veryovka: to the 100th anniversary of his birth

“Ukraine — My Native Land”: Music Program

Main editorial office of music programs of RT, 1991. The program is dedicated to the opera "Nocturne" by Mykola Lysenko.

In the program: the teleopera "Nocturne" by Mykola Lysenko performed by the symphony orchestra of Ukrainian Radio and Television; the creation of the opera is told by the head of the Mykola Lysenko House-Museum Roksana Skorulska, choreographer-director Alla Rubina, and conductor-director V. Zdorovenko.

Reference: "Nocturne" is the last opera by Mykola Lysenko, created in 1912, which demonstrates a departure from folklore and patriotic themes in favor of a chamber psychological opera miniature. The work combines romantic style, symbolist images and stage conventions, distinguished by intimate dramaturgy. The opera is rarely included in the theatrical repertoire, but is consistently performed in the opera studios of Ukrainian music academies.

Reference: The song ‘How can I not love you, my Kyiv?’ is one of the most famous musical symbols of the Ukrainian capital. It was written in 1962, with lyrics by Dmytro Lutsenko and music by Ihor Shamo. This lyrical composition, which extols the beauty and spirit of Kyiv, was granted the status of the city's official anthem in 2014.
