The program “Living History of Zaporizhzhia” is about the work of the writer Petro Rebra. The program uses black-and-white footage of Zaporizhzhia, the Poetic May festival, photos of Ukrainian writers, their books with inscriptions, Taras Shevchenko's Kobzar with autographs of world writers who were contemporaries of Petro Rebra.

Author of poetry collections, including "Sunrises", "Towards Summer", as well as a translator of works by Romanian writers. The leading themes of his work are the memory of those who died in war, the establishment of peace, goodness, justice and the search for truth.

Mykola Buchko: author's evening “In the light of the word”

Sumy Television. The December 15, 2000 issue of the “Countrymen” program is dedicated to the life and work of the poet-humorist Ostap Vyshna. Contains two parts.

On the video: the village of Hrun, Sumy region, various views; archival photographs of Ostap Vyshna; the ethnographic corner in Hrun "Ostapova krynytsia" with a Ukrainian stove, a portrait of Ostap Vyshna under an embroidered towel; the Ostap Vyshna memorial museum, books, photographs, clothes and dishes of the poet-humorist; a thematic exhibition in the Hrun village library; the burial place of the poet-humorist, a monument on the grave.

Reference: Ostap Vyshnya (Pavlo Gubenko) is a Ukrainian writer, humorist and satirist of the 20th century. He gained popularity thanks to the creation of a new genre of "usmishka" — a type of feuilleton and humoresque, which became the basis of his work. During his life, he experienced numerous arrests and imprisonment in Soviet camps, but continued to write even in difficult conditions.

Ostap Vyshnya — master of Ukrainian satire

Reference: Paraska Ambrosiy is a Ukrainian folk poet, author of numerous poetry collections, including “Bukovynski spivanka” and “Kvituje moya Bukovyna”. She worked under the influence of Ukrainian folklore and classics of Ukrainian literature, including Taras Shevchenko, Yuriy Fedkovych and Ivan Franko. Her poetry is distinguished by the use of folk-poetic motifs, and many poems have been translated into different languages.

TV and Radio Company “Ltava”. The program “Poltava Known and Unknown: A Retro-View” for July 4, 1999 is dedicated to the life and creative path of the Ukrainian writer Ivan Kotlyarevsky.

The writer’s biography is told, contains fragments of the reconstruction and the exposition of the Literary and Memorial Museum named after Ivan Petrovich Kotlyarevsky, the Memorial Complex “I. P. Kotlyarevsky’s Estate”.

Reference: Ivan Kotlyarevsky is a Ukrainian writer, military and public figure, a classic of new Ukrainian literature. His poem “Aeneid” became an important work of national importance, and the plays “Natalka Poltavka” and “Moskal-charivnyk” initiated a new stage in the development of the Ukrainian literary language.

“Zhurba and Joy”: Oleksandr Oles

Reference: Paulo Coelho visited Ukraine in 2004, where he took part in a book publishers' forum in Lviv, presenting the Ukrainian translation of his book "Eleven Minutes". During the visit, he expressed his admiration for Ukraine and promised to write several articles about the country for the international press. However, in 2014, Coelho stated that the Revolution of Dignity was a coup d'état, and he characterized Western support for Ukraine as a "convenient excuse for Russophobia," which drew criticism from many of his readers.

Ukrainian Radio Lviv, 1980s. The program “The Immortal Word” dedicated to the life and work of the Ukrainian writer Yevhen Pluzhnyk. 

Background: Yevhen Pluzhnyk was a Ukrainian poet, playwright, and translator. One of the representatives of the executed revival, a victim of Stalin's terror. The NKVD arrested him on December 4, 1934. He was accused of belonging to the so-called “nationalist terrorist organization”. In March 1935, he was sentenced to death by firing squad. Later, the sentence was changed to long-term camp imprisonment on Solovki. There the writer died of tuberculosis. He was buried in the camp cemetery. The grave has not been preserved. He was rehabilitated in August 1956. The conditional grave is at the Baikove Cemetery in Kyiv, plot 9.

The material was digitized by the team of the “House of Sound” department of Lviv Radio with the assistance of the Department of Composition and the Problematic Research Laboratory of Musical Ethnology of the Mykola Lysenko National Music Academy.

“The immortal word": Yevhen Pluzhnyk

Volyn television, 2012. The video is from the program Years and Fates. The hero of the program is Vasyl Hey, a Ukrainian poet, member of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine, Honored Artist of Ukraine, author of poetry and short story collections. 

The program was created by Olha Sorochuk, editor Natalka Voitovych, cameraman Valentyn Klimovych, and edited by Alla Domanska. 

“Years and Fates": Vasily Gay

Kherson, KhODTRK “Scythia”, 2006.

The program “Pidranky” is about the representatives of the “Executed Renaissance”, writers Mykola Khvylovyi, Mykola Kulish, and Mykola Cherniavskyi.

The program uses black-and-white footage of Stalin, documentary photographs depicting writers and performances of Mykola Kulish's plays, a manuscript by writer Ivan Dniprovsky with notes about Mykola Khvylyovyi, a manuscript of Mykola Cherniavsky's will, footage of Mykola Cherniavsky's memorial house in Kherson, and the Kherson Literary Museum.

The program was prepared by the author and director Anatoliy Marushchak, cameramen Andriy Gidulyanov and Volodymyr Strokach.
