Shelling of the town of Schastye

Donetsk region, 2025. 

The video features an interview with Andriy Polukhin, a soldier of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo.

He talks about his participation in the defense of Donetsk airport, his duties as an assistant chaplain and combat medic, his call signs, his comrades-in-arms, and the idea of creating a memorial to commemorate the heroic deeds of the DAP defenders.

On January 15, 2052, Russia launched a missile attack on the Lviv region.  The shelling damaged houses in the village of Sknyliv, Zolochiv district. The house of local resident Yaroslava Sukach is uninhabitable. The woman and her sister were at home during the shelling. 

For reference: the first air alert in the Lviv region was announced at 01:36 on January 15 due to the threat of attack UAVs. At 06:13, the air alert was sounded again, this time because of the threat of missile strikes. 

Two critical infrastructure facilities in Drohobych and Stryi districts were hit, without casualties but with damage. Also, a rocket hit in the village of Sknyliv, Zolochiv district, damaged private houses and outbuildings.

“There is no house...” - the consequences of a missile attack on Lviv region

Dnipro, December 25, 2024. A massive attack on the city. 

The video shows a multi-storey building, broken windows, glass on the ground, utility workers cleaning up the aftermath, damaged apartments, and interviews with local residents.

For reference: on the morning of December 25, the Russian military carried out a massive shelling of the Dnipro region. The explosions were heard in the cities of Samar, Kamianske, Kryvyi Rih and Dnipro. A person was killed as a result of missile attacks on energy facilities in the region. An administrative building, a sports facility, nearly two dozen private houses and 25 apartment buildings, three outbuildings, and a car were damaged. Six schools, seven kindergartens and a medical facility were also damaged. The town has problems with water, electricity and heating.

Donetsk region, Pokrovsk, 2024. 

The video shows life in the frontline city: the Pokrovsk stele, streets, apartment buildings, plywood-boarded windows and doors, buildings without windows, a pedestal “A monument to the great son of Ukraine Taras Shevchenko will be erected here,” a car “Evacuation. People are more valuable than gold” car, local residents, food stalls, scattered building materials, a littered road, a destroyed private house.

Reference: Every day, Russian troops shell Pokrovsk, destroying critical infrastructure, social institutions, and residential buildings. Between August and December 2024, more than 40,000 people left the city, children were evacuated, and all museums and monuments were removed.

The houses and public institutions damaged by shelling, no electricity, no gas supply since December 12, no water supply to the townspeople - this is how Pokrovsk ended 2024. The official statistics released by the city authorities on December 30: infrastructure is damaged or completely destroyed: 70% of residential buildings, 80% of social facilities, 95% of industrial facilities.

Pokrovsk: life in a frontline town

The story is about Ivan Hunia, a Greek Catholic priest from Ternopil. In 1987, as a soldier of the Soviet army, he served in Afghanistan, and since 2014 he has been a chaplain in the ATO zone.

Kyiv region, Bucha, April 19, 2022.

In the video: the bakery inside, the area near the bakery, journalists interviewing bakers, baking molds, fire in the oven, kneaded dough, a pennant with the image of a trident, ready-made bread, men coming in and buying bread.

Comments: Jacek Polewski, a volunteer baker from Poland, tells what motivated him to come to Ukraine, how he left, that he brought 500 kilograms of Polish flour with him, prepares sourdough according to a Polish recipe that is more than a hundred years old, about his attitude to the war, how Poles united in helping Ukrainians; Yaroslav Burkivsky, the owner of the bakery, what he did in the first days of the war, why he returned to his business, how Jacek Polewski found him.

After the liberation of Bucha from the Russian invaders, Jarosław Burkowski returns to the city and resumes the work of his bakery. He is joined by his Polish colleague, a baker from Poznan, Jacek Polewski. During the occupation of Bucha, the bakery was the headquarters of the Russian military.

November 14, 2024, Kryvyi Rih. Farewell to 32-year-old Olena Kulyk and her 3 children: 10-year-old Kyrylo, 2-year-old Demyd, and two-month-old Ulyana. Only Olena's husband and the children's father, 33-year-old Maksym Kulyk, survived the attack. He was in another room at the time of the attack.

November 11, 2024, Kryvyi Rih. The Russian army hits a five-story building with a ballistic missile, destroying several floors of one entrance. More than 10 people were injured. A 32-year-old woman, a 2-month-old baby, and children aged 2 and 10 were killed - all members of the same family, only the father survived. 

The video shows the destroyed entrance of the high-rise building, rubble, search and rescue operation, working equipment, broken windows of nearby houses, people, police, tents, ambulance.

Kryvyi Rih: a russian missile hits a five-story building 

On August 24, 2024, Ukraine conducted an exchange of prisoners of war with the Russian side. 115 Ukrainian soldiers returned home.

The video shows buses with prisoners of war, all the released prisoners standing together, singing the anthem, standing with flags, communicating, hugging, talking to their families on the phone, prisoners of war traveling in a bus, meeting with their loved ones.

115 soldiers returned from Russian captivity: exchange for Ukraine's Independence Day

Lviv, 2024. 

The video is an interview with Bohdan Haleta, a priest of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. On November 16, 2022, he was abducted by Russian security forces in Berdiansk. The man spent almost two years in the colonies. He was tortured and offered cooperation with the FSB. On June 28, 2024, the 59-year-old priest, along with nine other civilians, was returned to Ukraine. 

He talks about life under occupation, imprisonment, staying in the colony in Horlivka and the exchange.

Watching the President's New Year's greeting and a few minutes later receiving new wounded soldiers - this is how New Year's Eve was spent at one of the staging posts in Kharkiv region. During the night, medics treated five wounded soldiers.

Note: A stabilization center is a place where combat medics evacuate the wounded. There they examine the soldiers and stabilize their condition. It is located near the front line and it is there that the injured must be quickly provided with first aid, emergency surgery, and stabilized so they can be transported to a hospital.
