Emergency medical services under constant shelling in the city: Despite the difficult security situation, on the right bank of Kherson region, emergency medical teams respond to 150-180 calls per day on average, and they take universal field bags, as well as bulletproof vests and helmets.

Under fire around the clock: the work of doctors in Kherson

In the video: a soldier with a leg injury is being helped, medical equipment, including a patient monitor, a thermal blanket, medicines, and stabilization center staff carrying the patient on a stretcher into a car. 

Interview: Oleksandr, a military doctor with the 56th Brigade; Petro “Matador”, a medic with the 56th Brigade, tells us about his call sign, his civilian profession, his duties as a medic, and his dream of becoming a plastic surgeon.

For reference: a stabilization center is a place where combat medics evacuate the wounded. There they examine the soldiers and stabilize their condition. It is located near the front line and it is there that the injured must be quickly provided with first aid, emergency surgery, and stabilized so they can be transported to a hospital.

Poltava, February 1, 2025.

Background: The russian army launched a missile attack on a residential building in Poltava, destroying all five floors of the entrance. A fire broke out at the scene. According to the acting head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Volodymyr Kohut, an X-22 missile was used. A fire broke out at the site. Search and rescue operations lasted until 16:30 on February 2. The shelling killed 14 people, including two children aged 9 and 12. Five people are missing. 17 people were injured, including four children. In total, rescuers managed to save 22 people. One of the injured did not survive.

Zaporizhzhia, December 10, 2024.

The video shows the Voznesenivskyi district of the city, the street. Maria Prymachenko: live video from the phone, a private clinic destroyed, a coffee shop and cars parked nearby; piles of construction waste on the asphalt; a damaged school, broken windows; services are working at the site of the impact; rescuers are looking for people under the rubble of the destroyed building; people are waiting for at least some information about their relatives; a destroyed office building and a coffee shop. 

Reference: On December 10, 2024, the Russian army once again attacked Zaporizhzhia. The shelling destroyed a private clinic in the city, damaged an educational and extracurricular institution, cafes, and high-rise buildings. A search and rescue operation was underway at the site of the hit, as people were trapped under the rubble. Eleven people died as a result of the shelling.

The video features an interview with 28-year-old Edward, a volunteer from the UK who was wounded in Pokrovsk and is undergoing treatment. He talks about his condition, his love for Ukraine, his desire to help Ukrainians, his volunteer work, and his injury.

On January 15, 2052, Russia launched a missile attack on the Lviv region.  The shelling damaged houses in the village of Sknyliv, Zolochiv district. The house of local resident Yaroslava Sukach is uninhabitable. The woman and her sister were at home during the shelling. 

For reference: the first air alert in the Lviv region was announced at 01:36 on January 15 due to the threat of attack UAVs. At 06:13, the air alert was sounded again, this time because of the threat of missile strikes. 

Two critical infrastructure facilities in Drohobych and Stryi districts were hit, without casualties but with damage. Also, a rocket hit in the village of Sknyliv, Zolochiv district, damaged private houses and outbuildings.

“There is no house...” - the consequences of a missile attack on Lviv region

Donetsk region, 2025. 

The video features an interview with Andriy Polukhin, a soldier of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo.

He talks about his participation in the defense of Donetsk airport, his duties as an assistant chaplain and combat medic, his call signs, his comrades-in-arms, and the idea of creating a memorial to commemorate the heroic deeds of the DAP defenders.

Dnipro, December 25, 2024. A massive attack on the city. 

The video shows a multi-storey building, broken windows, glass on the ground, utility workers cleaning up the aftermath, damaged apartments, and interviews with local residents.

For reference: on the morning of December 25, the Russian military carried out a massive shelling of the Dnipro region. The explosions were heard in the cities of Samar, Kamianske, Kryvyi Rih and Dnipro. A person was killed as a result of missile attacks on energy facilities in the region. An administrative building, a sports facility, nearly two dozen private houses and 25 apartment buildings, three outbuildings, and a car were damaged. Six schools, seven kindergartens and a medical facility were also damaged. The town has problems with water, electricity and heating. 

Shelling on Christmas: consequences of the attack on Dnipro

Donetsk region, Pokrovsk, 2024. 

The video shows life in the frontline city: the Pokrovsk stele, streets, apartment buildings, plywood-boarded windows and doors, buildings without windows, a pedestal “A monument to the great son of Ukraine Taras Shevchenko will be erected here,” a car “Evacuation. People are more valuable than gold” car, local residents, food stalls, scattered building materials, a littered road, a destroyed private house.

Reference: Every day, Russian troops shell Pokrovsk, destroying critical infrastructure, social institutions, and residential buildings. Between August and December 2024, more than 40,000 people left the city, children were evacuated, and all museums and monuments were removed.

The houses and public institutions damaged by shelling, no electricity, no gas supply since December 12, no water supply to the townspeople - this is how Pokrovsk ended 2024. The official statistics released by the city authorities on December 30: infrastructure is damaged or completely destroyed: 70% of residential buildings, 80% of social facilities, 95% of industrial facilities.

Pokrovsk: life in a frontline town

The story is about Ivan Hunia, a Greek Catholic priest from Ternopil. In 1987, as a soldier of the Soviet army, he served in Afghanistan, and since 2014 he has been a chaplain in the ATO zone.
