Military exercises: 2008

On March 17, 1943, a tragedy occurred in the village of Remel, Rivne region. Polish policemen dressed in German uniforms set fire to the village, throwing grenades through the windows of Ukrainian villagers. After the horrific torture, most of the villagers were shot dead. According to eyewitness accounts, about 800 people died in the village of Remel. Only 70 residents survived.

The first video was filmed by Rivne State Television and is dedicated to the customs and rituals of celebrating Christmas Eve. 

The local People's House hosted a celebration of "Christmas Eve for Rivne residents". It was attended by members of the Prosvita Society, the Union of Ukrainian Women, MPs, representatives of political parties, and other residents of Rivne.

The photo exhibition is dedicated to the Azov Regiment in Rivne. 

The exhibition features 30 photos in chronological order, with the most striking shots aimed at introducing Rivne residents to this special battalion. This is the second city after Kyiv where the exhibition has been held.

An Azov soldier tells about his trust in his command and his motivation. There is a commentary by the exhibition's co-organizer Anna Kashynchar and librarian Yulia Kovalchuk.

The Azov Regiment is a special battalion of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine that participated in the ATO. It was created on May 4, 2014 by order of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arseniy Avakov.

A story about large-scale military exercises in Rivne on October 18, 2008.

The maneuvers involved 2,500 soldiers, 700 pieces of weapons and military equipment. Colonel and commander of the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade Ihor Dovhan comments on the good training of the Ukrainian military. 

President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, who attended the training and awarded Ihor Dovhan and other soldiers with personalized watches, also mentioned the problems of the Ukrainian army, namely the lack of funding.
