Reference: Vyacheslav Chornovil is a Ukrainian politician, publicist, dissident and political prisoner of the USSR. Founder of the underground magazine "Ukrainian Herald", member of the Ukrainian Helsinki Group, initiator of the creation of the People's Movement of Ukraine, its long-term chairman. He was a presidential candidate in the 1991 elections, was elected as a People's Deputy of Ukraine three times. He died in a car accident in 1999.
