Reference: The tenth five-year plan in the USSR lasted from 1976 to 1980, and the eleventh from 1981 to 1985. These were state plans for socio-economic development. The Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR participated in their implementation: it researched ways to increase production efficiency and introduce scientific and technological progress. The tenth five-year plan was accompanied by growth in industrial production, particularly in heavy industry and energy. The eleventh was characterized by a slowdown in development and difficulties in achieving planned targets. The Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR focused on the introduction of new technologies, rationalization of production, and the development of technical solutions for the industrial complex of the Union.
