Reference: The Beilis Case is a trial that took place in Kyiv in the fall of 1913 against the Jew Menachem Mendel Beilis, accused of the ritual murder of the Christian boy Andriy Yushchinsky. The trial, fabricated by the tsarist authorities with anti-Semitic and political purposes, caused a wide public outcry and became a symbol of the struggle of the liberal public against the reactionary regime. Beilis was acquitted by the jury.
