In 1986, the route ran according to the scheme "Kyiv — Warsaw — Berlin —Prague" with a length of about 2138 km with 15 stages, the start took place in Kyiv. The winner of the individual competition was Olaf Ludwig (GDR), the team competition was won by the USSR national team.
