Reference: The Drohobych Oil Refinery is the oldest oil refining enterprise in Ukraine. After oil deposits were discovered in Drohobych and the surrounding villages in the mid-19th century, small oil refineries began operating in the region, and in 1863, a new large refinery, Altman and Gottlieb, was founded in Drohobych. It was a joint-stock company, named after its owners. A hundred years later, in 1963, the Drohobych Oil Refinery Association was formed on its basis, which was later renamed the Drohobych Oil Refinery. Today it is PJSC ‘Oil Refining Complex Halychyna’.
