Reference: The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Ternopil is an ancient church of the UGCC, known since the first half of the 17th century and associated with the Basilian Monastery. In the 19th century, the wooden structure was replaced by a brick one in the Empire style, and in the 1930s, the complex was significantly rebuilt with the participation of the Redemptorists. The temple was destroyed by the Soviet authorities in 1962, and after the proclamation of the Independence of Ukraine it was rebuilt on its historical site.
