Reference: Bishop Pavlo Vasylik (1926–2004) was a Ukrainian Greek Catholic bishop and one of the leaders of the underground Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church during the Soviet period. For his loyalty to the church, he endured arrests, camps, and prolonged persecution. After the legalisation of the UGCC, he actively restored church life and became the first bishop of the Kolomyia-Chernivtsi diocese.
