Reference: Stepan Giga was born on November 16, 1959, in the village of Bilky, Zakarpattia Oblast. He released his first solo album, “My Friends,” in 1995. Two more followed: “Natalia Street” and “Roses for You.” In 2002, “Natalia Street” sold one million copies. As a result, Stepan Giga was the first artist in independent Ukraine to receive a Gold Disc.
On February 20, 1998, Stepan Giga became an Honored Artist, and four years later, on December 28, 2002, he received the title of People's Artist of Ukraine.
On November 19, 2025, the singer was hospitalized. He died on the evening of December 12. The funeral for Stepan Giga took place at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Lviv, and the singer was buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery.
