Reference: Mykola Malko is a conductor of Ukrainian origin, one of the key representatives of the Eastern European conducting school of the first half of the 20th century, whose activities covered the USSR, Western Europe, the USA and Australia. After emigrating in 1929, he played a prominent role in the musical life of Denmark, collaborated with the Copenhagen Royal Orchestra, contributed to the establishment of the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the formation of the Danish conducting tradition of an international level. Malko's contribution to world musical culture combines premiere performances of works by leading composers of the 20th century, pedagogical activity and theoretical reflection on the art of conducting, recorded in his works and competitive heritage.
