Reference: Dmytro Pavlychko is one of the key poets of Ukrainian literature of the second half of the 20th and early 21st centuries, whose work combined classical form (sonnet, poem) with acute historical, national and moral issues. His poetry and translations became an important tool for establishing the Ukrainian language in the world cultural context and for the formation of a modern Ukrainian literary tradition. Pavlychko played a decisive role in preserving the continuity between European classics and the Ukrainian poetic canon.
