"Groundwater": problems of Soviet industrialization

The film "Groundwater" is dedicated to the problems of ecology of Ukraine and the Dnipro River in connection with human activity, the creation of new enterprises and stations.

On the video: the Dnipro River, children; comments of scientists on the rational use of natural resources; Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plant, Kakhovka Pumping Station, Ochakiv Dam, various plans; the Dnipro River from the mountain, a monument to Taras Shevchenko in Kanev; a model of the Kremenchuk Hydroelectric Power Plant; the chronicle "Soviet Ukraine No. 2, January 1971", the construction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant; the first secretary of the Communist Party of Ukraine Petro Shelest, a speech; the construction of the Ochakiv Dam; children on the seashore; signs of the pioneer camps "Aurora", "Dolphin", "White Wings"; chronicle: a column of people with portraits of Stalin walks along a village street with shovels.

The film was shot in various cities and regions of Ukraine: Zhytomyr, Zaporizhia, Kherson, Skadovsk, Ochakiv, Kakhovka, Gola Prystan, the villages of Bila Krynytsia in Kherson region, Bubnovska Sloboda in Cherkasy region, Pokrovske in Dnipropetrovsk region.
