Bohdan Stupka is a theater and film actor, Shevchenko Prize winner, Hero of Ukraine, holder of the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, Order of Merit, and winner of the Oleksandr Dovzhenko State Prize.
In 2001, he became the head of the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater. Under his leadership, the theater went on tour to the United States, with Bohdan Stupka playing the lead role. The performance was one of the most important achievements of the Ukrainian theater scene. The actor also played more than 100 movie roles during his career.

Bohdan Stupka died on July 22, 2012 after a long illness at the age of seventy-one.
