Opera arias: a selection from Radio Culture

Audio selection from the archives of Ukrainian Radio. Opera arias:

1. “Habanera” from the opera “Carmen” by Georges Bizet. Performed by Anzhelina Shvachka and the Ukrainian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Conductor Vyacheslav Blinov. Recorded in 1999.
2. Duet of Odarka and Karas from the opera “Zaporozhets za Dunayem” by Semen Gulak-Artemovsky. Performed by Maria Litvinenko-Volgemut, Ivan Patorzhinsky, and the symphony orchestra of the Kyiv Opera and Ballet Theater. Conductor: Veniamin Tolba. Recorded in the 1950s.
3. Cavaradossi's aria “In the sky the stars were shining” from Giacomo Puccini's opera “Tosca.” Performed by Vasyl Tretyak and the Ukrainian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Conductor Vadym Gnedash. Recorded in 1969.
4. “Table Song” from Giuseppe Verdi's opera “La Traviata.” Performed by artists, choir, and orchestra of the Slovenian Opera and Ballet Theater (Maribor). Conductor: Stane Jurgec. Recording from the Kyiv Opera Theater, 1992.
5. Ostap's aria from Mykola Lysenko's opera Taras Bulba. Performed by Mykola Manoilo and the Ukrainian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Conductor Serhiy Gosachynsky. Recorded in 1987.
6. “Summertime” from George Gershwin's opera Porgy and Bess. Performed by Nadiya Petrenko-Matviychuk and the Ukrainian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Conductor: Rostislav Babych. Recorded in 1993.
7. Figaro's cavatina from Gioachino Rossini's opera “The Barber of Seville.” Performed by Yaroslav Hnatiuk and the Ukrainian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Conductor: Allin Vlasenko. Recorded in 1992.
8. Miroslava's aria from Boris Lyatoshinsky's opera “The Golden Ring.” Performed by Svitlana Dobronravova and the Ukrainian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Conductor Volodymyr Sirenko. Recorded in 1994.
