The documentary film "Brothers" is dedicated to the biography of two Ukrainian writer-brothers - Hryhoriy and Hryhoriy Tyutyunnyky - through the prism of the tragic fate of the Ukrainian intelligentsia of the 1960s and 1970s.

Video interviews with writers Anatoly Dimarov, Petro Zasenko, William Ligostov, Anatoly Shevchenko and Hryhoriy Shton. They talk about the life and work of the Tyutyunnyky brothers, share memories of them, show photographs, and recite poems.

Filming was carried out in Kyiv and the village of Shylivka, Poltava region.

Reference: Hryhoriy Tyutyunnyky is a Ukrainian writer and journalist, author of prose works on war and post-war themes; worked in Lviv as a teacher and editor of the magazine "Zhovten" (now "Dzvin"). Posthumously awarded the Taras Shevchenko State Prize for the novel "Vyr", which became one of the notable phenomena of Ukrainian prose of the mid-20th century.

Hryhir Tyutiunnyk - Ukrainian prose writer and translator of the generation of the sixties, a master of short stories and psychological prose about man and the Ukrainian village; also worked in the publishing and screenwriting fields. Laureate of the Lesya Ukrainka Prize for works for children; posthumously awarded the Taras Shevchenko State Prize.
