Reference: External independent assessment (EIA) is a standardized system for assessing the academic achievements of graduates of general secondary education institutions, which is used to ensure objective admission to higher education institutions in Ukraine. The system was introduced in 2004–2008 with the aim of improving the quality of education, unifying assessment criteria and limiting corrupt practices during the admission campaign.
