55th anniversary of the accession of Transcarpathian Ukraine

The video shows the celebrations marking the 55th anniversary of the incorporation of Transcarpathian Ukraine into the Soviet Union. In the concert hall, Oleksandr Omelchenko, Chairman of the Kyiv City Council, opens the ceremonial session; there are congratulatory speeches, the Ukrainian national anthem is played, and a festive concert takes place.

Congratulatory speeches: Viktor Baloha, Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration; Andriy Sheketa, Chairman of the Council of Deputies of the First Congress in Transcarpathia; P. Golovatyanko, a veteran of the Second World War; composer Yevhen Stankovych; and Halyna Dorum, a student at the National University of Uzhhorod.

Concert participants: the children’s ensemble ‘Dzhereltsia Karpat’; a large combined choir conducted by Petro Rak and a young soloist; People’s Artist of Ukraine Maria Stef’yuk; Viktor Ploskina; Yevhen Stankovych; the Hryhoriy Veryovka Choir; the Chamber Orchestra of the Transcarpathian Philharmonic; the exemplary choir of boys and young men from the city of Mukachevo; Maria Zubanych and Oksana Ilnytska; the Uzhhorod ballroom dance ensemble ‘Gracia’; the Pavlo Virsky Ukrainian Dance Ensemble; the vocal ensemble ‘Krasia’; the ensemble “Vyshyvanka”; the ensemble ‘Irshava’; the Honoured Transcarpathian Folk Choir; and Honoured Artist Petro Matij.
