Grigory Veryovka's Choir "Behind the Flagpole, the Flagpole"

A feature-length television film-concert "Behind the Flagpole, the Flagpole" with the participation of the Ukrainian State Academic Folk Choir named after Grigory Veryovka.

The film featured the following works: "Behind the Flagpole, the Flagpole" (words by Taras Shevchenko, music by Borys Lyatoshynsky), "Oh, the Dawn Has Risen", "Shchedryk" by Mykola Leontovych, "Marina" (arrangement by I. Sulima), "At the Long Vine", "My Thoughts, Thoughts", "Paw", "Tuman Yarom" by Anatoly Avdievsky.

Soloists — Nina Matvienko, Valentyna Synelnyk, Volodymyr Boyko, I. Nechyporko. Artistic director, chief conductor — Anatoly Avdievsky.

Reference: The Ukrainian State Academic Folk Choir named after Hryhoriy Veryovka was founded in 1943 during World War II in Kharkiv; the founder and first leader of the collective was the composer and choral conductor Hryhoriy Veryovka. The modern structure of the collective includes choral, dance and orchestral groups, which ensure the comprehensive reproduction of the Ukrainian folk musical tradition.
