Accident at the Zasyadko mine, 2001

Reference: the accident at the Zasyadko mine on August 19, 2001 is one of the largest tragedies in the history of independent Ukraine. As a result of an explosion of a methane-air mixture at a depth of about 1,000 meters, 55 miners died (45 on the spot, 10 died in the hospital), more than 30 were injured.
The accident was part of a series of fatal tragedies at this enterprise (1999, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2015).
