Reference: in April 1999, UIA received a new Boeing 737-300, manufactured specifically for the airline. The aircraft was assigned the registration number UR-GAH and the proper name "Mowgli", which was chosen at an all-Ukrainian competition. The author of the idea was Yevgeny Rodionov — a 13-year-old schoolboy from Chernihiv.

UIA became the first airline in the post-Soviet space to receive a Boeing 737-300 directly from the factory.
In June 2001, it was "Mowgli" that transported Pope John Paul II from Kyiv to Lviv during his official visit to Ukraine, and then from Lviv to Italy. "Mowgli" flew in the UIA fleet until October 2017.
