He served in the 80th Separate Airmobile Brigade, was the commander of the 503rd Separate Marine Battalion, the chief of staff of the 35th Separate Marine Brigade, the commander of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade, and in 2024 he headed the newly created Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In June 2025, he was appointed deputy commander of the "East" operational command. It was he who, in April 2014, gave one of the first orders to open fire on Russian militants near Sloviansk.
