Stepan Bandera was born on January 1, 1909. He was the founder and leader of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA). Bandera played an important role in the struggle for Ukrainian independence between the First and Second World Wars. Stepan Bandera was poisoned. It was done by Soviet spy and KGB agent Bohdan Stashynskyi with a potassium cyanide solution on October 15, 1959, in Munich.
