Reference: Vikenty Beretti is an architect of Italian origin, academician of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. The most famous works are the building of Kyiv University (Red Building), projects of the Astronomical Observatory, the Botanical Garden and the Institute of Noble Maidens, as well as co-authorship of the general plan for the development of Kyiv.
Alexander Beretti is an academician of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, the son and successor of the architect Vikent Beretti. A prominent representative of classicism in Kyiv, a lecturer in the history of architecture at Kyiv University. He designed a number of iconic Kyiv buildings, including the building of the First Kyiv Gymnasium and the Anatomical Theater of Kyiv University, and also supervised the construction of St. Volodymyr's Cathedral.
