“Venus's Waltz” by Mykola Lysenko

The audio features “Venus's Waltz” (“People Call Me…”) from Mykola Lysenko's opera *Eneida*. Recorded in 1982. Performed by: soprano—Iryna Zakharchenko, accompanied by the Ukrainian Television and Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Vadym Hnedash.

“Suspilne Mediatheque” and Ukrainian Radio, in partnership with the State Specialized Publishing House “Musical Ukraine,” are releasing unique archival recordings of works by the classic of Ukrainian music, composer Mykola Lysenko, from the Ukrainian Radio archives. This initiative is being implemented as part of the “Musical Ukraine” publishing house’s project “Mykola Lysenko: Reboot,” which aims to promote the creative legacy of this outstanding Ukrainian composer.
