Reference: Bohdan Lepky is a Ukrainian writer, literary critic and translator, professor of the Jagiellonian University, academician of the Kyiv Mohyla-Mazepa Academy, whose creative heritage includes over 80 of his own books and is the second largest in Ukrainian literature after Ivan Franko. The most famous works are a cycle of historical novels about Hetman Mazepa and the poem "Cranes", which became a folk song and anthem of the Ukrainian Sich riflemen.
