Poet David Guramishvili and Ukraine

1999, National Company of Ukraine. The program "Living Word" is dedicated to the history of the Ukrainian language, its significance in the formation of Ukrainian statehood and culture. The topic is the Georgian poet David Guramishvili and his life in Ukraine. The host is the poet-translator, diplomat of Georgian origin Raul Chilachava.

Reference: The Georgian poet David Guramishvili (1705–1792) lived the last 32 years of his life in Myrhorod in the Poltava region, where he created his most famous collection "Davitiani". Ukraine became his second homeland: here he spent the last years of his life, died and was buried in Myrhorod.
