National Television Company of Ukraine, 2000. The programme ‘The Boundless World of Solomiya Pavlychko’, dedicated to the scholar, writer, founder of the ‘Osnovy’ publishing house and literary critic.

On the video: photos and excerpts from an interview with Solomiya Pavlychko; the building of the ‘Osnovy’ publishing house, founded by the Ukrainian scholar; books she authored; the Department of Philology at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy; comments from the public figure’s colleagues and associates: Dr Vira Ageeva, Professor of Philology; Valentina Kirilova, Director of the ‘Osnovy’ publishing house (1998–2012); Dr Marta Bohachevska-Khomyak, historian; Oksana Zabuzhko, writer; and Lyudmyla Taran, poet and literary critic.

The programme was produced by: writer and journalist Teodozia Zarivna (author and presenter), and director Lesya Kabirova.

Reference: Solomiya Pavlychko was a Ukrainian literary scholar, cultural studies expert and translator, and a researcher of modernism and feminist criticism. She was the founder of the Osnovy publishing house. She died in 1999 as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning in her own flat.
