
The Lemkovyna Choir Sings, 1995

Lviv Television, Music Programs Department. The program "The Lemkovyna Choir Sings" from March 17, 1995 is dedicated to the concert of the Lemkovyna folk choir on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the collective at the Lviv Regional Philharmonic.
The concert program includes: "I Remember My Homeland", "Longing for the Carpathians", the rebellious "We Are a Hundred Lemko Zevzyata" ("Song of the Hundred "Horse""), Lemko songs: "I Am a Fool", "And You, Girl, How You Are Running", "Oh, If I Had Known the Trouble" (soloist — Khrystyna Chaban), "Oh, Mountains of Volonki" (soloist — Natalia Labyk), "Zozulenka Clucks", "Yak-em Byla Yesche Mala" (quartet — Ivan Moroz, Olena Kushnir, Natalia Berezyuk, Andriy Kushnir), "Zagray Mi, Gudachku" (soloist — Oleg Semchyna), "Gorila Lypka", "Moy Mountains, Mountains" (soloist of the Lviv Opera — Halyna Gavrish), "Oh I Love Music Very Much". The second part of the concert features works performed by the choir and orchestra: "For nothing, Yanchyk, for nothing you love me", "The girl took flax", "Under the cloud" (soloist — Yuriy Petrushko), "As I left Debrecen" (soloists — Yuriy Petrushko, Natalia Labyk, Igor Kuzin), "Hey step by step, horses, step by step", "Hey, come to us, I'm running" (soloists — Dariya Korin, Vira Mogilevich), "Polka-freak", "Give the old woman a rake", "I won't marry", "Turn around, girl" (soloist — Oleg Semchyna), "A pear grew in the middle of the village", "The forests rustled, the forests rustled" (soloist —Galyna Gavrish), "There near Przemysl".
The artistic director of the chapel is Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Ivan Kushnir, the conductor of the orchestra is Nestor Soroka.
Reference: The folk song and dance ensemble "Lemkovyna" was founded in 1969 in Lviv by Lemkos deported from Poland with the aim of preserving and popularizing the Lemko cultural heritage. The basis of the repertoire of the collective is authentic folk songs of the Lemko region and their arrangements created by Ukrainian composers, and the concert activity of the ensemble is aimed at popularizing Lemko folklore in Ukraine and abroad.
