“New Generation”: The Lives of Students in Kyiv, 1997

1997. The “New Generation” Creative and Production Association. This episode of the “New Generation” program is dedicated to the lives, studies, creative pursuits, and leisure activities of Kyiv’s student youth.

The video features: excerpts from a concert celebrating the 68th anniversary of the Radio Engineering Faculty at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and interviews with students from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The “Lucky Time” costume party on Khreshchatyk, a vintage car show, and footage of young people in costumes. Interviews with students in Kyiv’s dormitories, showing their living conditions. The talk show “Na Toku” featuring fourth-year students from the Ivan Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv State Institute of Theater Arts and experts: Valery Sheptetyka — Honored Actor of Ukraine and lead actor at the Molodyi Theater — as well as Yevhen Korovchenko and Valentina Zimnia — professors at the Ivan Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv State Institute of Theater Arts. The students showcase their talents by performing the sketch “50 Years Later”. Filmed at the Kyiv Academic Theater of Drama and Comedy, featuring an interview with Vitaliy Linetsky.
