"New Generation": Music Video Making and Contemporary Art, 1997

1997. The “New Generation” Creative and Production Association. The issue of the program “New Generation” is dedicated to the exhibition at the Soros Center for Contemporary Art in Kyiv, music video making in Ukraine and the work of young actors (on the example of the winner of the Oleksandr Dovzhenko State Prize of Ukraine, Victoria Spesivtseva).

On video: a new exhibition at the Soros Center for Contemporary Art "Double"; a series of color photographs "Return to Nature" by Swedish artist Annika von Hauswolf; the "Prototype" project by Czech artist David Černý; the sculpture "Little Gulliver" with a barcode instead of a face; the "Symptomatic Anonymity" project by artists X, U, Z: work in the style of land art; the ring and stages of the fight - an interpretation of the fight between the artist and the critic; a press club with Ukrainian music video makers and a discussion of the following issues: preferences in music video making and music, the organization of the workflow, the importance of the music video budget; a fragment of a video clip by the group "Tabula Rasa" (sung in Russian); by El Kravchuk for the song "Dolya"; by Oleksandr Ponomarev (for the song "Serdenko"); a performance by the group Green Grey (sung in Russian); the video clip of the group "Vhid U Zminnomu Vzutti" for the song "Chas, shcho minaye"; Iryna Bilyk for the song "Tak prosto"; president of the Art Agency "Teritoriya A"; director and producer Vitaly Dokalenko; Ukrainian singer and composer Yurko Yurchenko, a fragment of his video clip "V puteli dikih sniv"; fragments of the video clip of the group "Vopli Vidoplyasova" "Music"; singer Kamaliya "U styli techno" (performed in Russian); the video clip for the song "Shey, Shey, Shey" by the group "Tabula Rasa" (performed in Russian); the video clip for the song "Viynia zavdy viynia" by El Kravchuk (with footage containing promotional products; actor Vitaly Linetsky participated in the filming); pre-premiere screening of the video clip of the group "Vzryvatelyi"; a story about the actress, wife of actor Anatoly Hostykoev, Victoria Spesivtseva.
