Kholmshchyna: the search for Ukrainian heritage

September 1, 1994. Lviv. The program is dedicated to the Kholm region and Podlasie, the history of Ukrainians in these lands, the preservation of cultural and church heritage, and the activities of the "Kholmshchyna" society.

Public figure, head of the society Viktor Revukha talks about the work of the "Kholmshchyna" society, its members, organized events, Ukrainian-Polish relations and the search for the remains of Danylo Halytskyi. The church life of the Kholm region and the figure of Metropolitan Hilarion Ohienko are highlighted. The hierarch of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church, Avel Poplawski, talks about its importance for the Kholm region, church subordination, worship in the Church Slavonic language, and Orthodox parishes in Poland. Memories of the metropolitan are also shared by an acquaintance of Ivan Ohienko, Taras Gurko and Metropolitan Hilarion scholarship holder Tamara Onufriychuk. The program deals with the translation work of the metropolitan, his role in the liberation of people from German captivity and the Ukrainian revival in the churches of the Kholm region.
