
The story of Count Schönborn: the last vacation in the Carpathians

September 9, 2009. Transcarpathian Regional State Television and Radio Company. Documentary film "Shawnborn. The Last Vacation in the Carpathians" tells the story of Georg-Erwin von Schönborn-Buchheim, the last descendant of the German Schönborn dynasty, who lived in the Beregvar estate near Mukachevo until June 1944. After the arrival of Soviet troops in Transcarpathia, he leaves the estate and leaves for Austria.
The origin of the count, his life and the history of the family are told by representatives of the Schönborn dynasty and the historian Alfon Dehant. The film uses photographs by Georg-Erwin von Schoenborn-Buchheim and archival newsreels. Filming took place in the Uzhgorod Castle, the Uzhhorod Park Zone, the Shenborn Palace in the Mukachevo District, and on the roads of Transcarpathia. Interviews with the counts and the historian are recorded in Austria.
