Embroidered towel: treasures of the Ukrainian family

2009. Ternopil Regional State Television and Radio Company. The program "Treasures of the Family" is devoted to the history of Ukrainian embroidered towels, their purpose and the symbolism of ornaments.

Ethnologist Tamara Pistun talks about the types of towels, the traditions of their use in wedding ceremonies and the importance of embroidery in Ukrainian culture. The program deals with regional features of ornaments in the west and east of Ukraine, symbols of embroidered patterns and traditional rules for creating a towel.
