The video shows activists and self-defense units on the territory of Mezhyhirya, the former residence of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
Yanukovych began preparing to escape from Mezhyhirya on February 19, when he was taking valuables and antiques out of the residence.
Accompanied by security guards, after signing an agreement with the opposition on the night of February 21-22, Viktor Yanukovych left his residence for Kharkiv. After meeting with Mykhailo Dobkin, he recorded a well-known address to the public, stating that the events on Maidan were an attempted coup d'etat and that he was not going to leave Ukraine.
However, on February 22, he tried to fly to russia at the Donetsk airport. Due to the lack of documents, Ukrainian border guards banned the flight. In the evening, after the arrival of the motorcade from Kharkiv, the former president headed towards Berdiansk, Zaporizhzhia region, and from there he flew by Russian helicopters to Crimea and finally left the country.
On February 25, 2014, Oleh Makhnitsky, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, announced that Viktor Yanukovych was wanted on suspicion of mass murder.
On February 27, it was reported that the fugitive president was in russia.
