
The Kurenivka tragedy is a disaster that occurred in Kyiv on March 13, 1961, when a flow of waste from brick factories broke through the dam from Babyny Yar and covered one of the districts of Kyiv - Kurenivka. According to official data, 145 people died. During the Soviet period, the tragedy was hushed up, and the people of Kyiv did not believe in official statistics.
