April 10, 2006, official announcement of the results of the parliamentary elections. The results are announced by the head of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine, Yaroslav Davydovych.
Elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine were held on March 26, 2006. The electoral threshold for blocs and parties was 3% of the number of voters who took part in the elections.
According to the official results, the following parties were elected to the Verkhovna Rada of the V convocation: The Party of Regions - 186 seats, the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc - 129 seats, the People's Union "Our Ukraine" - 81 seats, the Socialist Party of Ukraine - 33 seats, and the Communist Party of Ukraine - 21 seats.
