The newscast includes: a military parade on Independence Day, President Leonid Kuchma's meeting with foreign politicians and diplomats, raising the flag of the Council of Europe on European Square in Kyiv, Independence Day in Crimea and Dnipropetrovs'k (now Dnipro), the opening of a monument to Taras Shevchenko in Lviv and a memorial to Bohdan Khmelnytsky in the Khortytsia reserve, a live broadcast from the Spivoche Pole, a story from Ternopil, Kherson and Chernihiv regions, and others.

The program tells about sports events during the celebrations of the fifth anniversary of Ukraine's independence: a half marathon, sailing regattas, as well as the Paralympic Games, a tennis tournament in Kyiv, a chess tournament in the Netherlands and international athletics competitions in Brussels.
