Platon Voronko was a Ukrainian poet, writer, publicist, and playwright, a member of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR of the 10th and 11th convocations. He was born on December 1, 1913, in the village of Chernechchyna, Sumy region.

He is the author of more than thirty collections of poems and poems, and a large number of books for children. In 1969-1971, he was the deputy head of the Kyiv organization of the Writers' Union of Ukraine. He was a well-known public figure.

Platon Voronko died on August 10, 1988, in Kyiv. He was buried at the Baikove cemetery.
