Anatoliy Solovyanenko was born in Stalino (now Donetsk) on September 25, 1932, into a creative family. He graduated from the Donetsk Polytechnic Institute, Faculty of Mining and Mechanical Engineering in 1949. He worked as a lecturer at the Department of Graphics and Descriptive Geometry.

To improve his singing, Anatoliy Solovianenko took lessons from the famous tenor and soloist of the Donetsk Opera House, Oleksandr Korobeychenko. He trained at the La Scala Theater in Milan and became one of the first Ukrainians invited to the Metropolitan Opera.

Anatoliy Solovyanenko popularized Ukrainian songs in his concerts. He died on July 29, 1999.
