Volodymyr Ivasyuk was born on March 4, 1949, in the town of Kitsman, Chernivtsi region. He was a Ukrainian poet, composer and performer, musician, and master of several musical instruments: violin, piano, cello, and guitar. Hero of Ukraine (awarded posthumously in 2009). One of the founders of Ukrainian pop music. Author of 107 songs, 53 instrumental pieces, and music for several plays.
