Bohdan Stupka is a theater and film actor, Hero of Ukraine, winner of numerous theater awards and orders. Born in Kulykiv, his family later moved to Lviv. He played in one hundred films and more than fifty theater roles. He served as Minister of Culture of Ukraine and director of the Ivan Franko National Theater. He passed away on July 22, 2012 after a long illness.
