The festivities begin at 10 a.m., and the national flag is raised on Maidan. At the same time, an artillery salute was fired on Trukhaniv Island. Afterward, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy begins his speech. At the rostrum, he signs a decree establishing the Day of Ukrainian Statehood, which will be celebrated on July 28, the day of the Baptism of Rus. The President presents awards and orders.
A video is shown before the parade begins. A girl goes through all the epochs of Ukrainian history. Then she appears on the Maidan. She gives flowers to a soldier, Volodymyr Fedchenko, who is the commander of the Third Separate Tank Brigade of the Reserve Corps.
Around 11 o'clock, a column of soldiers marched down Khreshchatyk. There are 5,000 soldiers marching, more than 400 pieces of military equipment, and 75 aircraft in the sky. Among them is the world's largest cargo plane, the Mriya.
